Facebook, the Ultimate Motivator for Change???

It seems like everyone has a Facebook account these days. Even my own mother is on Facebook daily. It’s a great tool to help get in touch with old friends, network, and share part of your life with the outside world.

One of the cool things about being on FB is that you can “see” your friends via their pictures. With cell phones and digital cameras everywhere, there is no shortage of pics to go around…especially if you are “out and about!” Even if you don’t want to post your pictures, chances are, someone else will and before you know it, your face is on everyone of your friend’s computers.

I have heard recently from a few different people on how much they hated the pictures that were posted of them on FB and they finally realized that they need to get their butts into the gym and back into serious shape. Even though they see themselves in the mirror each day, the pictures are usually what get them to “See the truth.”

Its amazing how a candid picture can do that to someone. Pictures are better than mirrors because they usually show the truth, whether you like it or not.

Facebook puts a lot of old friends in touch and can be the catalyst for get-togethers, “reunions,” and other functions where you are “exposed” to the world. Since there is more than likely to be cameras around, FB winds up being a real wake-up call for many once they see their pictures plastered all over their friends account.

If you are one of those people, the cool thing is you can see the awesome changes that you produced from your hard work the next time you are out with friends and your pictures are posted. There is nothing more satisfying then a good before and after picture.

If you need a good wake-up call to get back into the gym, get someone to take some pictures of you when you are not expecting it…you might just be surprised at what you really see.
